Set in London at the height of the Romantic era, WILL STARLING follows the title character as he gets embroiled in the lucrative world of grave robbery. Ian Weir has previously published the novel DANIEL O’THUNDER.
The International Dublin Literary Award, managed by Dublin City Council’s library service, offers a prize of €100,000 to the author of the winning book. This years longlist consists of 160 nominees, including 10 Canadian novels that were nominated by Libraries in Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Saint John, St. John’s, Sydney, Toronto and Winnipeg for the 2016 award.
The 2016 Judging Panel includes Australian novelist, Meaghan Delahunt; Ian Sansom, British novelist, critic and academic; Irish writer, Carlo Gébler; Iglika Vassileva, Bulgarian translator and Mexican writer Juan Pablo Villalobos. The non-voting Chairperson is Eugene R.
The shortlist will be revealed on April 12, 2016 and the winner will be announced on June 9, 2016.
