Carol Off, award-winning author and host of CBC Radio’s As It Happens, will publish a new work of nonfiction with Random House Canada in the spring of 2017. When Home Won’t Let You Stay is a multi-faceted exploration of the international refugee experience.  As a journalist, Off documents the harrowing and often grinding journey that refugees and their families face.  But at its heart, this is a more personal narrative.  It is the story of Asadullah Aryubwal and his family – refugees from Afghanistan, personally sponsored by Off – and their eight year journey to move from one side of the globe to the other, all in an effort to find safe harbour and a new place to call “home.” The deal was arranged jointly by Anne Collins and Pamela Murray at Random House Canada with Shaun Bradley.
