Maureen McQuerry, Award Winning Author and Poet

We’ve just heard the fantastic news that Transatlantic Author Maureen Doyle McQuerry will receive a special “Washington Voices Award” this weekend alongside Washington State Poet Laureate Tod Marshall and 127 other poets who contributed to WA 129, an anthology published in 2017 by Sage Hill Press of Spokane.

This special award, presented by the Washington Center for the Book, “recognizes the significance of the anthology in the literary landscape of Washington.”

The Washington Center for the Book is a partnership of The Seattle Public Library and Washington State Library.

Washington State Book Awards honors works of outstanding literary merit by Washington authors. An award is given based on the strength of the publication’s literary merit, lasting importance and overall quality to an author who was born in Washington state or is a current resident and has maintained residence here for at least three years.

The 2018 Washington State Book Awards are made possible in part by the generous support of the Amazon Literary Partnership.

McQuerry’s next book, BETWEEN BEFORE AND AFTER, releases in February, 2019.
