The short stories of Equipoise explore the invisible bowlines that tie people together. A young woman forms her own idea of feminine sexuality while skinny-dipping during a thunderstorm; a naive bride returns to her beloved Ontario farm country and suddenly sees her husband in a sobering new light; a middle-aged woman facing her last chance at motherhood flees North only to be confronted with unexpected complexities of life in the Yukon. The heroines of these stories are fastened to other women as well as contoured by their geography.

Katie is represented by Stephanie Sinclair.
