Erica Simmons is a Toronto-based writer and researcher with a PhD in history. She has worked in television and radio, and is the author of Hadassah and the Zionist Project (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006) as well as many articles and reviews for magazines, newspapers and journals. Specializing in urban social history, Erica is particularly interested in writing about the lives and experiences of city kids in the past. She is an Associate Fellow of the Centre for the Study of Play and Recreation at the University of Greenwich in England.
