Beyond the Pale cover imageThe finalists of the 2016 BC Book Prizes have been announced and we are so thrilled that BEYOND THE PALE (HarperCollins Publishers) by Emily Urquhart is shortlisted for the Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize!  The Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize is awarded to the best work of literary non-fiction.

BEYOND THE PALE tells the true story of the birth of the author’s daughter who was born with albinism, and the subsequent journey Emily took across North America and Africa to explore the cultural beliefs surrounding albinism.

emily-urquhartThe award will be presented to the winning author by the West Coast Book Prize Society at the 32nd Annual Lieutenant Governor’s BC Book Prizes Gala on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Government House in Victoria.
