Bill Gaston

Transatlantic is delighted to welcome Bill Gaston to the agency.

Novelist, short story writer and memoirist Bill Gaston was possibly born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, and subsequently has lived across Canada. His most recent novel, The World (Penguin Canada, 2014) won the Ethel Wilson Award. Several among his short fiction collections, including Mount AppetiteGargoyles, and Juliet Was A Surprise, have been nominated for the Giller Prize, twice the Governor General’s Award, and twice won the Victoria Butler/Book Prize; individual stories have won the CBC Literary Prize, the Canadian Magazine Award, have appeared frequently in Best Canadian Stories, as well as in Tin House (U.S.) and Granta (U.K.). His latest memoir, Just Let Me Look at You (Penguin Canada, 2018) was nominated for the RBC Charles Taylor Prize. In 2006 he was awarded Canada’s Timothy Findley Prize for a body of work. He lives off-line on an island in the Salish Sea, where he is working on a novel, Greatland.
