Transatlantic is proud to congratulate author Claire Holden Rothman on winning the 2019 Vine Award for Canadian Jewish Literature in Fiction for LEAR’S SHADOW! The Koffler Centre announced the awards on Wednesday, October 23rd at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto.
Ayesha Chatterjee, Melanie J. Fishbane, and Eric Beck Rubin served on the jury and selected Rothman for the $10,000 award with the following verdict:
“The writer’s command of the elements of the novel – setting, character, pace – are what distinguish this revision of Shakespeare by way of contemporary Montréal.”
