Samantha Swenson at Tundra Books/Penguin Random House Canada has acquired world rights to OUT INTO THE BIG WIDE LAKE by Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award-winning author (for WHEN THE MOON COMES) Paul Harbridge on an exclusive submission. The book will be illustrated by Josee Bisaillon. Kate, a young girl with Down Syndrome, spends the summer with her grandparents on a lake, is befriended by a dog named Parbuckle and learns to drive a boat. When a family emergency arises, will she be able to handle it? Publication is scheduled for summer 2021. Amy Tompkins at the Transatlantic Agency handled the deal for the author.
