Sonia is a journalist with CNN who covers crime and justice. She is passionate about covering cases related to the #MeToo movement and telling stories about the resiliency of the human spirit in overcoming trauma.
She was nominated for an Emmy in 2018 for being part of CNN’s Worldwide Hurricane Coverage and is honored to have covered the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement with the stories of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Breonna Taylor among others. She’s also covered trials ranging from El Chapo’s federal trial to the case against Nxivm leader Keith Raniere.
