Transatlantic is excited to announce that Daryl Sneath’s, IN THE COUNTRY IN THE DARK has sold to Signature Editions for publication in Fall 2023!
Set in an ominous farmhouse in a small rural town, IN THE COUNTRY IN THE DARK is a thrilling psychological exploration of the secrets we keep, the love we need, the family we sometimes find—and the lengths we might go to keep it.
About the book:
Landon Wood, 33, lives alone in the city. Joy Kalm, 28, has lived in many cities, being something of a restless soul. One day, Landon literally bumps into Joy in an upscale downtown store. Earnestly, he apologizes. Jokingly, she forgives him. They have coffee. They talk. It’s a meet-cute as any. A relationship begins.
A few days later, Joy and Landon take a day trip to Lowbone—a remote town in the country, known for its wolf sanctuary. They are there to look at The Hart Farm. There are rumours about the house, but the couple choose to be kept in the dark, rather than shatter the tide of good feelings that has brought them here together. Blindly, they move to The Hart Farm to build a life. But they know as little about each other as they do the home they now share, about the needs that draw them together, and what wolves may be prowling in the dark of night.
