We are thrilled to welcome author Kirti Bhadresa!
Kirti Bhadresa’s fiction and non-fiction work has appeared in literary magazines including The Fiddlehead, Prairie Fire, The Quarantine Review, The Sprawl and Room. Kirti was a 2022-2023 finalist for an Alberta Magazine Publishers Association award in the category of Feature Writing.
She works primarily at her dining room table with a dog at her feet, at home in Calgary (Treaty 7).
Her writing engages with themes of visibility, belonging and love, with protagonists who are quietly determined and rarely nostalgic. Kirti’s stories most often take place under the ever-shifting prairie sky she also looks up to for inspiration.
Kirti’s first book, a short story collection entitled AN ASTONISHMENT OF STARS, was acquired by Jen Sookfong Lee of ECW Press, and will be published in Autumn 2024!
