We are excited to announce that Kay Chronister’s THE BOG WIFE has been acquired by Dan Smetanka and Dan Lopez at Counterpoint (North America) at auction and to Daniel Carpenter at Titan Books (UK) for publication in Fall 2024!
THE BOG WIFE is an eco-horror novel about a family living in their ancestral manor in Appalachia and the ritual exchange with the cranberry bog that ensures their survival, which examines the legacy of lies and discord within an isolated family, and what happens when the land you’re caring for stops caring for you.
Amanda Orozco and Laura Cameron handled the deal.
Kay Chronister is the author of Thin Places (Undertow, 2020) and Desert Creatures (Erewhon, 2022). Her short fiction has appeared in Strange Horizons, Clarkesworld, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, The Dark, and elsewhere, and has been nominated for the Shirley Jackson and World Fantasy awards. Kay has a PhD in English from the University of Arizona. She now lives outside of Philadelphia and when not writing or teaching, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and history podcasts.
Congratulations!
