Adriana Chartrand is a mixed race Native woman born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her dad is Red River Metis (Michif) from St Laurent, Manitoba and her mom is from Portage La Prairie, MB., of Irish/Welsh/Scottish ancestry.
Adriana has two degrees in Film Studies including an MA from the University of Toronto. She lives in Toronto where she has worked in the film industry for the last seven years, with a focus on working for and with Indigenous creators. She speaks English and French. Adriana’s debut novel, AN ORDINARY VIOLENCE, is out with House of Anansi today!
She is at work on her next novel.
