We are elated to announce that author of the critically acclaimed short story collection, THE WHOLE ANIMAL, Corinna Chong’s astounding new novel, BAD LAND has been acquired by Brian Lam at Arsenal Pulp Press!
BAD LAND is a wrenching story of love and understanding between two mismatched outcasts as they abscond on a misguided road trip to reconcile with their pasts. Infused with an undercurrent of gothic tension and seething with suspense, BAD LAND will capture readers of literary fiction with darker threads, such as Jeffrey Eugenides, Donna Tartt, and Mona Awad.
Corinna Chong’s first novel BELINDA’S RINGS, (NeWest Press in 2013) was published to strong reviews. Corinna won the 2021 CBC Short Story Prize, and her stories have appeared in numerous literary quarterlies including Room and Grain. Her most recent book, THE WHOLE ANIMAL, a collection of short stories was published in April, 2023, and is attracting significant media attention. Corinna has a BA in English and BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Calgary, as well as an MA in English and Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick.
