Deal News: We are thrilled to announce that DATING AS A FELLOW HUMAN by Ani Castillo has been sold to Amanda Ferreira at Random House Canada.

Cartoonist, artist, and author of internationally bestselling children’s book PING, Ani Castillo’s debut graphic memoir for adult readers DATING AS A FELLOW HUMAN, shares her philosophies and observations on romantic relationships through hilarious anecdotes from her dating life, which explore the joy of human connection and the power of self-love.

Deal was arranged by Samantha Haywood and Amy Tompkins at Transatlantic Agency (World English).

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, at a young age Ani Castillo began working as a cartoonist for Mexican newspapers and TV. Her first picture book, Ping (Little, Brown Books for Young Readers) has been translated into six different languages, has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, in CTV Your Morning and wasselected as one of the best books of 2019 by the CBC. Her work has been published in Mexican and Canadian newspapers and exhibited in galleries around North America. She haspartnered with institutions like Mental Health America, Doctors Without Borders and the Canadian Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Her picture book Spark was published with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers in 2021. Her third book, People Are My Favorite Places, is forthcoming in 2024 with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Ani currently lives on Toronto with her two beloved daughters.
