Margot Blankier at Tundra Books has acquired Recommended Reading author Paul Coccia’s debut picture book, The Bear Fairy, to be illustrated by Fred Blunt, for publication in the spring of 2026. In The Bear Fairy, Spencer and his friend Mariah are hunting for fairies in the park when Spencer captures a surprising specimen: a fairy who looks more like a bear than the Tinkerbell-esque fairy he was looking for. The Bear Fairy is a humorous, body-positive story about acceptance and being yourself. Amy Tompkins represented the author and Susan Penny at The Bright Agency represented the illustrator in a deal for world rights.
