Jonathan McIntosh is a cultural critic and video essayist. With over one million Youtube subscribers, Jonathan’s current project, THE POP CULTURE DETECTIVE AGENCY, aims to broaden critical media literacy through a series of engaging video essays that investigate the intersections of masculinity, sociology, politics, and entertainment.
His viral videos, which have garnered over 85 million views, have been mentioned in the New York Times, WIRED, Washington Post, LA Times, Forbes, the Atlantic, and NPR. Jonathan has given lectures and facilitated workshops around the world focusing on remix video, transformative storytelling, fair use, and critical media literacy at institutions such as UCLA, NYU, University of Washington and SXSW and in countries that include Austria, Spain, the UK, Denmark, Dominican Republic and Sweden.
