Lynne Missen at Tundra Books has acquired world rights to My Best Friend Is a Butternut Squash by Heather Smith and illustrated by Kass Reich, at auction, for publication in the summer of 2026. My Best Friend Is a Butternut Squash is a picture book in which a young boy has a butternut squash as a best friend, which ultimately leads him to a new human friend. Amy Tompkins at Transatlantic Agency represented the author and Fiona Kenshole at Transatlantic Agency represented the illustrator.
