
Born in Cap Rouge, Québec, and now settled outside of Montréal, Audrée Wilhelmy is an award-winning author in Canada and Europe. Her literary writing explores topics of feminism, violence, power, beauty and social justice. A consummate creator, Audrée is also an artist, photographer, and artisanal printmaker. She is the author of several award winning books, including her most recent, Peau-de-Sang (2023 Éditions Leméac in North America and Le Tripode in France), which is currently on submission. Through its central character, a sorceress and prostitute, it explores themes of violence against women and concurrent societal complicity. It has been shortlisted for the global literary prize des Cinq Continents de la Francophonie, in France for the 2025 Prix Aznavour pour l’amour and for the Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle. It has won the 2024 Prix Ringuet, Académie des lettres (Québec) and the Prix Pantagruel (France).
