Ibe Liebenberg is an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. He is a recent graduate from the MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts in both poetry and fiction. His fiction was awarded the 2023 Tribal College Journals. His debut poetry collection, Birds at Night, is the winner of the Sowell Emerging Writers Prize and he is also the winner of Cutthroat Journals Joy Harjo Poetry Prize (2024).
