Born in rural Eastern Europe, Petra had very few comics or fantasy stories to read, especially ones translated into her mother tongue. But those that she did find from the local one-room library she read over and over again until their covers fell off.
Now as a writer herself, she wants to make comics for as many people as possible to read—which is why she started in webcomics, the perfect avenue for that!
She also wants to tell stories that will change your brain chemistry so you believe there is a future worth fighting for and that invite you to look at the world from a perspective filled with hope and curiosity.
Petra studied graphic design at the University of Lapland, 3D animation at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, and movie directing at the Turku Arts Academy and is currently making a living drawing and writing webcomics. She is the creator of Tiger, Tiger, an ongoing webcomic that was nominated for an Eisner in the Best Webcomic category in 2019 and was picked as one of the best comics in 2021 by The A.V. Club and one of the top ten great YA graphic novels of 2024 by the American Library Association.
