
Debut novelist Leah Bailly’s THE FOLLOWING, an urgent and luminous literary thriller following a dangerously famous and volatile wife of a politician as she flees her marriage, examining the roles women are forced into, the inequities between the global north and south, and public scrutiny and surveillance, to Jen Sookfong Lee at ECW Press, for publication Spring 2027, by Eva Oakes and Samantha Haywood at Transatlantic Agency (World English).
Leah Bailly holds a PhD in Creative Writing & Literature from the University of Southern California, and an MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she was Deputy Editor of the literary journalWitness. She also holds a BFA in Writing from the University of Victoria, and has attended residencies at MacDowell, Yaddo, The Banff Centre and Summer Literary Seminars in Russia and Lithuania. Her work has appeared on CBC and NPR radio, as well as the Collagist, Los Angeles Review of Books, Prism International, Room, Joyland, Pank Magazine and elsewhere. Originally from Western Canada, she currently teaches writing and literature on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish First Nations of Vancouver, Canada.
