Jess Goldman is a writer, cartoonist, and amateur puppeteer. Their story “Tombstone of a Tsaddik” won the 2025 Bronwen Wallace Award for Short Fiction. Jess has received grants for their writing from Canada Council for the Arts, SSHRC, and the Jewish Museum of Montreal. They are an alumnus of Banff Centre’s 2025 Literary Journalism Residency and the 2025 Tin House Summer Workshop. You can find their fiction and personal essays in MaisonneuveRoom Magazine, and the CBC. A graduate of University of British Columbia’s creative writing MFA program, their writing explores that sweet spot where Yiddishkayt and queer culture joyfully collide.
