Tali Shammas is a writer, lawyer, and PhD candidate. Her award-winning short fiction has been published by the Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture. After completing a JD/MBA, Tali was called to the Bar in 2016. She practiced corporate law at a leading business law firm, advising clients on issues pertaining to mergers & acquisitions, securities regulation, and corporate governance. While she no longer practices law, Tali hosts workshops and seminars aimed at educating writers on legal issues that may affect them. She lives in Ontario with her husband, two children, and a wheelchair-bound Cockapoo.

Tali has been hard at work preparing her debut novel, a gothic fantasy with elements of body horror, for submission.

In a contest where blood fuels art and failure means death, one artist must paint her way to survival. THE ART OF BLEEDING follows Stasi, a gifted artist invited to a high-stakes competition at a secluded estate. There, twenty women vie for a coveted residency by channeling magic into their paintings. Stasi expects her greatest challenge will be besting Helmi, her childhood rival and assigned roommate. But as the challenges turn deadly, the stakes extend far beyond winning a prestigious position.

Tali is represented by Marilyn Biderman and Brenna English-Loeb.
