Transatlantic Agency is pleased to announce that Joni Di Placido has been hired as International Rights Coordinator and Agent Assistant at the Transatlantic Agency. Joni has worked in the publishing industry for eight years and speaks Italian and Spanish. She will be supporting the primary agents at Transatlantic with their international rights work, including but not limited to: schedule booking, submission tracking, catalogues, newsletters and future attendance at rights fairs. Joni is also working as an Agent Assistant in her training for literary agenting.

Joni has been involved with the publishing industry for nearly a decade, working as an editor, author-relations manager, and writer educator. She worked at Rakuten Kobo for five years as part of the Kobo Writing Life team, helping independent publishers to understand the global reader market and maximize their success. Most recently, she led the writer education team at Wattpad, providing writing and craft resources to help writers succeed on Wattpad’s platform. Before moving into publishing, she studied Italian and Spanish Language and Literature at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. She is originally from Edinburgh but now lives in Toronto.
