Liza has loved to make art for as long as she can remember. Her interest in children’s literature developed while working at the revered children’s book review magazine, The Horn Book, during art school. The wonderful picture books that filled the office shelves inspired her to focus her studies on children’s book illustration.
After receiving her BFA, she dove into children’s books and has since illustrated two dozen of them. While once just dreaming of writing her own picture books, Liza has now both written and illustrated four, one of which received four starred reviews and was selected by Bank Street College of Education to be included on their list of best children’s book of 2021.
Liza lives in rural Northern Vermont with her husband, two dogs, and two cats.
