UBC MFA grad and author-illustrator Emily Chou’s debut YA graphic novel, ON YOUR WAY, tells the parallel stories of a Chinese-Canadian mother and her daughter, as teens living decades apart, each navigating the gulf between their desires and their families’ expectations, linked to one another by the neighbourhood they call home, a music-loving young man, and a devastating tragedy. Slated for publication in fall 2026, North America and UK English rights were acquired by editor Sal Sawler for Conundrum Press’s Emanata imprint.
