Transatlantic extends a warm welcome to Graham Slaughter!

Graham Slaughter is an award-winning writer of fiction and non-fiction. He won the 2026 Writers’ Trust of Canada’s Bronwen Wallace Award for Creative Non-Fiction, and he was a finalist for the same award in 2025. His work has also been shortlisted for the RBC PEN Canada New Voices Award and longlisted for the Masters Review Novel Excerpt contest. 

A former journalist turned writer, Graham’s work has been published in PRISM international, Canadian Geographic, Toronto Life, The Toronto Star, and elsewhere. He has served as a jurist for the Toronto Arts Council and sits on PRISM international’s editorial board. 

Graham holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University. Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Graham lives in Toronto with his husband and son. He is working on his debut novel and a memoir about whales.
