Katie Munnik is a Canadian writer and poet living in Cardiff, UK. In 2017, she won the Borough Press Open Submission Contest and her debut novel, The Heart Beats in Secret, was a USA Today bestseller. Her second novel, The Aerialists, was Waterstones Welsh Book of the Month for April 2023. A selected writer for the Hay Festival Writers at Work Programme 2024, her prose, poetry, and creative non-fiction have been published in the UK, the USA, and Canada. Katie is a graduate of Queen’s University, the University of St Andrews, and the Humber School for Writers, and she teaches at Cardiff University.
