David A. Robertson at Swift Water Books/Tundra has acquired Gitxaala Nation member and winner of three Canadian Children’s Book Awards Kim Spencer’s YA novel Here for a Good Time, along with a second, untitled novel. Here for a Good Time follows Morgan, who attends alternate school with her best friend, Skye, and covers first relationships, grief, loss and teenage pregnancy. It is a joyful and revelatory portrait of Indigenous girlhood. Here for a Good Time will publish on Swift Water’s inaugural list in the spring of 2026. Amy Tompkins at Transatlantic Agency handled the deal for English rights in North America.
