Award-winning Canadian screenwriter Lexi Savoy’s WHILE YOU WERE GONE, a psychological thriller about a young woman who escapes her violent abductor only to discover how her disappearance has affected her small town for years, and that her homecoming is about to disturb the people who’ve loved her the most. Pitched in a similar vein as Then She Was Gone and Room, to Adrienne Kerr at Simon and Schuster Canada for publication in May 2027, by Kate Moody and Samantha Haywood at Transatlantic Literary Agency (NA).

With two generations of bookstore owners behind her – Lexi Savoy, screenwriter and author, has spent her entire life surrounded with stories. After graduating with Honors from the Screenwriting Program at Algonquin College in 2015, she won the prestigious 2018 International Emmys Sir Peter Ustinov Scriptwriting Award for her dramatic television pilot Who Killed Heather McAdams? The recognition helped her build connections in Hollywood, where she now works with manager and producer Derrick Eppich (Empirical Evidence) and director Alexis Ostrander – an Emmy-nominated television director known for her work on Mayfair Witches (AMC), Servant and Truth Be Told (Apple TV+), and most recently, Fire Country (CBS). Savoy spends her time collecting potentially haunted typewriters, taking photos of her ever-elusive cat Chuck, and is actively working on her next novel and screenplay.

Lexi is represented by Samantha Haywood and Kate Moody.
