The Transatlantic Agency is pleased to announce that Fiona Kenshole will join the company as a new literary agent, representing children’s illustrators and authors.
Kenshole was most recently Vice President of Development Acquisition at Laika Inc, where she created a slate of projects for the animation studio, (including the Academy Award-nominated movies “Coraline” and “Paranorman”). Before moving to the US, Fiona worked for several prestigious UK publishing houses, including Publishing Director for Oxford University Press Children’s Books, Deputy Managing Director at Hodder Children’s Books and Editorial Director at HarperCollins, where she published award-winning writers including Michael Morpurgo, Lois Lowry, Beverley Cleary and Geraldine McCaughrean.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining TLA,” says Kenshole. “I respect their solid reputation for honesty and integrity, and value the opportunity they offer to build a list with clients on both sides of the Atlantic.” Kenshole currently resides in Portland, Oregon, and plans to travel regularly to New York, London and the major international trade fairs.”
Kenshole’s arrival at TLA coincides with the departure of Andrea Cascardi, who will become managing director and publisher at Egmont USA. “Andrea created a wonderful list of clients over the ten years she worked with TLA, and we look forward to working with her from the other side of the publishing desk,” said David Bennett, TLA’s president. “Fiona Kenshole, Patricia Ocampo and I will strive to continue the excellent service that Andrea’s authors and illustrators have come to expect from the agency.”
