Congratulations to Iain Reid for being named the recipient of the 2015 RBC Taylor Emerging Writer Award. The $10,000 prize, awarded by RBC and the Taylor Prize, recognizes a Canadian published author who is working on a first draft of a writing project, especially in literary non-fiction. The prize also comes with the opportunity to be mentored by Plum Johnson, whose memoir THEY LEFT US EVERYTHING won the 2015 RBC Taylor Prize in March.
Iain Reid has previously published two non-fiction books with House of Anansi, ONE BIRD’S CHOICE and THE TRUTH ABOUT LUCK. He has also had shorter pieces appear in publications throughout North America, and his debut novel, I’M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS, is to be published by Simon & Schuster this summer.
Both Plum Johnson and Iain Reid are represented by Samantha Haywood of the Transatlantic Literary Agency.
