Adele K Thomas

Adele K. Thomas is an illustrator, director, art director, producer and lecturer, with 20 years of experience in animation film and TV design, children’s books, apps, education & brand advertising including mascots. Her experience in animation film and TV design allows Adele to bring a lively personality and movement to a book’s characters, expressive faces and a versatility in style & colour application.

Adele previously worked on Do Not Watch This Show for LeeBones Productions as a character & prop designer, and recently finished two seasons on Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur at Flying Bark Productions. She is currently illustrating children’s books for Scholastic and Harper Collins Australia, and previously illustrated titles for Hardie Grant and Penguin.

In recent years Adele has worked as an executive producer for the Childish Deano web series and co-directed the 2017 animation feature film, Shopkins Wild, and was senior art director for both Shopkins Wild and Shopkins World Vacation.

Ethan Long

Ethan Long is an award-winning and internationally recognized author, illustrator and creator of children’s content.

His Emmy-nominated Scribbles and Ink is currently an integrated game and video series available on PBSKids.org. He is also the author and illustrator of the popular digital book series of the same name currently available on Epic & Amazon.  

In the book publishing world, Ethan is the author and/or illustrator of over 150 titles, which include Hoggy at Bat, Fright Club, Tickle the Duck, One Drowsy Dragon, Big Cat, Pug, Give Me Back My Book (with Travis Foster), Chamelia and the New Kid in Class, his Happy County series and the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award winning, Up! Tall! and High!. He is also the illustrator of 5 board books for the best-selling picture book series Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site, written by Sherri Duskey Rinker, as well as the wildly successful Stick Dog chapter book series, written by Tom Watson. His middle-grade memoir, The Death and Life of Benny Brooks: Sort of a Memoir was published in 2023, and received many starred reviews.

In the TV world, Ethan was the creator and executive producer of the Emmy-Nominated animated short-form preschool series Tasty Time with Zefronk, which aired daily on The Disney Channel and Disney Junior from 2008-2011. He also created the animated short film, Farm Force: Send in the Clones, which won the 2005 Nicktoons Viewer’s Choice Award. 

After graduating from the prestigious Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida in 1991, Ethan was a family man in Orlando, Florida until 2021. Then he lived in Denver, Colorado for 4 years and now lives in New York City.  He loves traveling with his wife, Heather, and their three grown children and spending as much time with them as possible. When he’s on his own, he develops ideas, takes one-hour walks, meets friends and colleagues for coffee and lunches, cooks delicious meals, takes mid-day naps, hangs out with his dog, Auggie, and rides the subways around NYC.

David Cornish

Born 1972, David (D.M.) Cornish is old enough to have seen and been astounded by the very first Star Wars film. The discovery of Lord of the Rings when he was 12, then Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake while at university, inspired his love of word conjuring and the invention of secondary worlds.

David Cornish is a fantasy author and illustrator and creator of The Monster Blood Tattoo trilogy (Foundling, Lamplighter and Factotum) which was a big international success with rights sold to US, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Denmark, Sweden and Taiwan.

David is also the author of several picture books for children, including / Don’t Want to Eat My Dinner, I Don’t Want To Go To Bed, and Emu’s Halloween, all published by HarperCollins.

Richard Amari

Native New Yorker Richard Amari attended School of Visual Arts and received a B.F.A. in Graphic Art. He has worked on staff in various roles (designer, assistant art director, associate art director) for Dutton Children’s Books, G.P. Putnam’s Sons, Philomel Books, and Scholastic Press, Orchard Books, Arthur A. Levine Books. He has also designed and illustrated books on a freelance basis for Mud Puddle Inc, Macmillan, Sterling Children’s Books, Z-File, Hill and Wang and several imprints of Penguin Books for Young Readers. 

Richard also enjoys creating package designs for Mud Puddle. As a kid on Staten Island, Richard was consumed by Tin Tin, Marvel Comics, and those gruesome horror comics from the 50s. He was delighted to merge his interest in comics with a paycheck when he designed graphic novels such as Queen Bee and the Goosebumps series for Graphix. He also loved working on Graphix’s color editions of Jeff Smith’s Bone series.

He has written, illustrated, and designed his own graphic novels and short stories. Richard is currently creating a graphic rendering of a short story written by the notorious occultist, Aleister Crowley. You may find Richard drawing, designing, writing, hiking and playing drums at home in Putnam Valley, New York.

Jason Platt

Jason Platt grew up in Durham, North Carolina and is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. He is a member of the National Cartoonists Society and is the author/illustrator for the middle-grade graphic novel series, Middle School Misadventures, and Paw & Order. When he isn’t writing or cartooning, Jason loves to travel, hike and play board games. He and his family live in Davenport, Iowa.

Naomi Canale

Naomi Canale is a writer and multidisciplinary artist drawn most to visual storytelling through children’s books and printmaking. Originally a self-taught artist always working with a mix of mediums; some of which she used for sculptures, large installations, murals, artist books, and paintings. She entered college for a degree in the arts after being diagnosed with dyslexia as an adult. The themes she uses throughout her work tie into community, memory, and lived experiences. For illustration, she uses traditional materials like colored pencils, pens, watercolor, and lately she’s experimenting with monoprint. She has also mentored with some wonderful authors and illustrators through The Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators. Her works have been shown on Magnolia Network’s Public Artist and Storefront Stories (including streaming platform HBO Max, Apple TV, and Discovery+), Fabled Bookshop, Artprenticeship through Creative Waco, Art Center Waco, 507 Gallery, Martin Museum, Rochester Public Library, and Baylor Libraries. When she’s not making art, she works in a library and letterpress lab.

Steph C. Solís

Steph C. Solís is an artist born and based in México who is fascinated by horror and fashion and has a striking, distinct style that incorporates both interests. Her art ranges from the macabre to the indulgent, and her work often touches on social commentary about self-imposed and societal restrictions and expectations.
